50 Word Story Too Much Time To Think

Too Much Time To Think

Jim had too much time to ruminate. What if he lost his job? What if the economy collapsed? What if werewolves were real? What if his wife was a werewolf? She did have hairy thighs. He made a mental note to Google “How to Kill a Werewolf”, just in case.

    Hahaha. Hilarious.
Glad to see that you’ve returned to writing. In this business you have to put on blinders and get through one day at a time, even just one part of a task at a time.
I like your word choice of ruminate. I think I’m particularly tickled by the story because my ridiculous mind functions about like Jim’s. How far out there can your mind carry you before you reel it back in?

    • Thank you 🙂 That’s exactly how my mind works, too…every time it starts to rain, my mind is already convinced it’s never going to end and wondering whether to start building an ark 😦

Haha Funny you should say that because I was pondering how such an amusing story really connects with self-doubt. Once the imagination gets going, you start fearing the most outrageous things and somehow your mind convinces itself that it must be true.
