Hello. Welcome. Pull up a chair. Ignore the screams coming from the basement, that’s just my last boyfriend.
I’m a writer from England and for the last ten years I’ve been a fully paid up member of the Sensible People (got a real job, paid the bills, quit smoking, ate salad, worried what other people thought, etc.), but hitting 40 has a way of making you realise that if you don’t do it (whatever “it” may be) now, you may never get another chance. “It”, for me, was being a fiction writer.
I have a passion for suspense and horror (psychological or scary, not gory), metal (music, not the shiny stuff) and seeing life from different perspectives (I usually empathise with the bad guy; Michael Myers was clearly misunderstood).
If there’s one thing I’d love to achieve through writing, it would be to reach those people standing on the edge of a cliff (either metaphorically or physically) and give them some other world to escape to for a while. Just long enough to see a way forward.
Anyway, in the meantime, the reason I’ve set up this blog is to practice, and hopefully to get some honest feedback. Feel free to comment, criticise or point out typos…it all helps.
